Using a Trimble Juno ST, I began collecting GPS data for roads, trails, water quality sample sites, vegetation classification, and other features.  The archaeologists will map cultural features later this year.  Saturday, January 16th

My sister and I went out to collect water samples to be analyzed through the Arkansas Water Resources Center.  We tested six ground and surface water sources at various elevations and locations on the property.  Look for a YouTube video soon that shows how and where we collected samples.  Wednesday, January 13th

Students in the environmental science senior thesis seminar have presented their projects over the past few weeks.  I presented my work so far on the science portion of the Williams Woods Project.  The ten-minute talk was loosely structured like my thesis proposal: introduction, methods, preliminary data, and Q&A. The feedback I recieved was that my presentation was good overall, but I needed more discussion about my preliminary data.  Thursday, November 12th

 

   

The site visit with the Arkansas Archaeological Survey went very well... the team will return later in the winter after full leaf-off to survey and map historic features. Monday, November 2nd
